Closet refurb: Day 4

Published by at 12:46 pm under Home improvement

A new week, a new day and more progress on the closets. The project is not moving as fast as we had originally had hoped, but are not going to pressure our contractors. They are not master carpenters, but more semi-retired handymen. They are nice guys and we don’t want to make a stink, but it would be nice to have our house back. We’re hopeful that the next two days will be fruitful.

Yesterday, they sanded the inside of the guest bedroom closet and added the two oak thresholds on the floor. (Find out more about the thresholds from Closet refurb: Day 3)

In order to speed up the process and because it would be easier to do before the shelves and doors were installed, I primed the finished walls of the guest bedroom closet last night. I used two coats of primer. We’ve decided that we would only prime the inside of the closets because we don’t expect too much foot traffic in our closets and that the base white is a good enough color for the inside. Down the road, if we want to paint them, they’ll already be primed and ready.

Here are some photographs of today’s progress.

Congratulations on your coming out of the closet! I know you both will be much happier now that everyone knows. It’s okay. I still love you both!
