Alaskan brown bear kills moose in person’s front yard

Published by at 7:46 am under nature, news

A frightening and awesome display of nature unfolded in Homer, Alaska, in the front yard of an Alaskan couple recently, when an Alaskan brown bear attacked and killed an adult female moose. The brown bear, which shares the distinction of being the largest in the bear family with the polar bear, ate only the heart out of the dead moose before it ran off into the woods.

The couple had the foresight to film the event as it took place and you can see the 3 part video on Youtube. (You must register and sign in because of it’s explicit content.)

For more information on the incident, read more at the Homer Tribune, an Alaskan newspaper.
