Great Backyard Bird Count – Friday results
It was a good first day to the Great Backyard Bird Count yesterday. A goodly number of suburban bird species came to visit our offerings of sunflower seed and blended mix of seed.
One incorrigible squirrel ate most of the sunflower seeds, but we saw the following amount of birds over the course of the day.
- Northern Cardinal – 5
- Dark-Eyed Junko – 3
- Blue Jay – 3
- European Starling – 4
- House Sparrow – 17
And no tufted titmice. (Sigh) However, we’ve mixed up the seed offerings for Saturday to include cracked corn and a nutty trail mix to see if we could attract anything different.
