Kitchen – Week 6, day 4

Published by at 9:37 pm under The new kitchen

Lots of detail work pushing the finishing side of things today. The crew started priming the wood sub-flooring so that it wouldn’t absorb the adhesive for the floor tiles. They also tidied up some things around the cabinets and started the wood trim on the island. And behold, we have the start to our columns! (They’re not finished, but it’s a great start.)

Nice poo in your blog! We built a house once long ago in a land far away. We did the 42″ maple cabinets and all came out well… eventually… we noticed a few weeks after the cabinets were hung that one section wasn’t exactly level, so I busted out the laser level and measuring tape… voila the right side was 1/2 inch higher than the left… hardly noticeable, but enough to say ” w a r r a n t y” and demand the builder correct it.

So measure that shizzy and assess the true level after a few weeks of settling before you cut the cabinet peeps a big ole check.

L’shana tova. Happy new year. The kosher ham will be good this year in your new Jewish kitchen!

Thanks J-money! Nice to hear from you and hope all is well after the way “the man” treated you so poorly.

I’ll be sure to give our work the stink-eye before we cut the last check. The contractors are installing everything, including our cherry cabinets–and so far, they have been absolutely phenomenal.

L’Shana Tova to you and yours as well.
