Kitchen – Week 5, day 1
Week 5 of the kitchen renovation started out with a bang! Amidst the hustle and bustle of contractors and inspectors moving in and out today, Randye took this quick shot of the chaos in our driveway.
This morning the firestop stuff was put in. All day, the guys were super-busy putting the insulation in the walls and installing the ceiling boards on the dining room and kitchen rafters. Here are a couple shots of the results. We’re starting to feel like our walls are once again, a reality.
The inspector also came by around noon to sign off on the rough, also known as the close-in. He was here for about a 15-minute walk-through, signed the permit and rode off on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Even our foreman said, “Now that’s the job…”
Here are two shots of the work from today. The first is of the insulation in the kitchen walls and the second is of the kitchen ceiling panels.
