Kitchen – End of week 4
A call into the electric inspector got him to the house on Wednesday and we had a succesful inspection. He only said that he wanted our electrician to install two outlets in places that we hadn’t originally specified. Later that day, the electrician came and installed them.
Thursday was pretty much a wash as our team was finishing up another small project and couldn’t come by, but Friday was a different story.
The rear and side of the house is now completely sided. One would never tell there was work done, except for the new back deck. They also tidied up a few loose odds and ends inside, such as finishing the duct for the range in the ceiling and fixing a final bit of wood flooring to that was left uneven. Additionally, a 2×4 was moved in the frame for the island wall to ensure that a switch was directly behind the stove top. Don’t want burned hands and forearms, now do we?
With week 5, we’re looking to get the firestop put in the walls, adding the fiberglass insulation and walling everything in. With any luck, Randye and I will be painting walls next weekend. (Painting was the only thing that our contractor didn’t do, but Randye and I are experts.)
