The electrician finished his rough on Monday, so now we have outlets, and switched and recessed fixtures — oh my!

Here’s a little of what our ceiling looks like:

We had a down day of no work on Tuesday. But the Wiring Inspector came on Wednesday and signed off on the rough. Also, the extra vinyl siding for the back of the house finally arrived. So work can resume again! (Yay!)

I’m expecting the regular contractors around lunchtime today. (They originally thought they could come by in the morning, but they CALLED yesterday afternoon to let me know they couldn’t make it until lunchtime.) Contractors that call?! From every remodel horror story I’ve ever heard, I thought courtesy was against contractor law. I think we won the handyman lottery and am thrilled to be proven wrong.

12:30: Oh well, just got a call that they are still stuck at the other job site. But, they promised to be here first thing tomorrow and we get the full crew of 4, instead of the regular 2, in order to catch up.

At least they did call again, so I’m not a hostage in the house. Since it’s a slow work day for me, I may go run some errands.
