We’ve finally got a contractor
Randye and I have finally decided on a contractor for our kitchen remodel. We were down to two for a few weeks, but in the end, decided to take the safe bet and use an operation that was licensed, not our neighbor and a bit more expensive–although we do get more things within the project covered, such as masonry for the exposed chimney, fixing the adjacent dining room ceiling, plaster walls, etc. Why were we thinking of going with an unlicensed team? Well, money was certainly a factor. And then we figured that using our neighbors would be a convenience–but it turns out with their mother being terminally ill, that’s not the case after all.
Now we have to meet with our contractor again to finalize measurements, who’s buying what and other pesky details. Then we set a start date. Before that happens, Randye and I will be busy finalizing and purchasing counter tops, flooring, appliances, doors and windows.
In case you’re wondering who we’re going with, it’s Perry Brothers Construction.
